By entering Davochfin Farm, you acknowledge that participation in farm-based activities—including fishing, walking, and visiting livestock—carries certain inherent risks.

​Under standard liability principles, Davochfin Farm and its operators are not liable for injury, loss, or damage resulting from these inherent risks, which include (but are not limited to):

  • Natural Terrain: Uneven ground, slippery banks near the water, or hidden obstacles in the grass.
  • Animals: Unpredictable behavior of livestock, pets, or local wildlife.
  • Farm Equipment: The presence and operation of agricultural machinery and tools.
  • Water Safety: Risks associated with being near the lochans or drainage areas.
  • User Conduct: Injuries resulting from a participant’s failure to follow safety signs or acting in a negligent manner.
​You are assuming the risk of participating in activities at this location. Please supervise children at all times and stay within designated public areas.



An Agritourism operator is not liable for injury or death of, or damage or loss to, a participant in an Agritourism activity conducted at Davochfin Farm Dornoch. If such injury, death, damage, or loss results from the inherent risks of the Agritourism activity.

Inherent risks of Agritourism activities included, amongst others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury, death, damage or loss.

You are assuming the risk of participating in this Agritourism activity.

 For a farm in Scotland you are primarily governed by:
​Occupiers' Liability (Scotland) Act 1960: Which requires you to take "reasonable care" for the safety of visitors.
​Health and Safety at Work Act: If you have employees or public visitors.

Davochfin Farm Experience Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. However, as a working farm, our experiences involve significant preparation, staff scheduling, and animal welfare considerations. To keep things fair for everyone, we apply the following policy:

Standard Cancellation Terms

These apply to all our experiences/activities including (but not limited to) Farm Tours, Highland Cow Experiences, Laser Clay Shooting, and Fishing.

Special Considerations

  • Live Lambing Experiences: Nature doesn’t always follow the clock. If our ewes aren’t cooperating on your scheduled day and you do not see an actual lamb being born, there will be no refund or rescheduling.
  • Weather Conditions: Most farm activities are “all-weather”. We only cancel if conditions are deemed unsafe (e.g. extreme high winds for shooting or lightning). If we cancel for safety, you will receive a full refund or an immediate reschedule.
  • Late Arrivals: Experiences start promptly. If you are more than 15 minutes late, it may be treated as a “no-show” without a refund to avoid disrupting other guests or the animal feeding schedules.

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us via email at info@davochfinfarm.co.uk . The timestamp of your message will be used to determine your refund tier.

Prop Tip: We highly recommend guests take out basic travel insurance to cover any unexpected illness or travel disruptions that fall outside our 4- hour window.

Farm Hygiene & Safety

Rules:

  1. PPE (personal protective equipment): Please wear items at all time during your experience these may include (but are not limited to), Eye protectors, latex free gloves, aprons, shoe covers. These will be provided to you by a member of staff and will be taken off you and disposed of appropriately at the end of your experience.
  2. Hand washing: Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after touching the animals, fences, equipment and before eating/drinking.
  3. Supervision: Children must be supervised at all times, and are the responsibility of their adults. All under 16s must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.
  4. Animal contact: Do not kiss the animals or put faces to them, or put your hands in their mouths. Do not feed them anything but designated food given to you by a staff member. Do not walk/stand close behind the back end of the animals to prevent you from being kicked. Do not chase the animals, please listen and follow instructions from our staff on how to behave round the animals.
  5. Food/drink: Only eat in designated areas (cafes/picnic spots) and do not eat food that’s fallen on the ground or animal feed.
  6. Footwear: Clean or change soiled footwear and clean pushchair wheels before leaving.
  7. Designated areas: Stay with a member of staff at all times, keep away from farm machinery, slurry pits and animal pens. Do not go through any gates or doors without a member of staff.
  8. Pregnant women: If you are pregnant you will not be allowed to take part in Live Lambing and Farm Tours, this is for you and your unborn child’s safety.
  9. Age restrictions: Some of our activities/experiences are age restricted please check this before booking.
